The six largest private major oil companies earned $92.8-billion combined in 2024, a 25% decline below 2023's total. However, majors' profits have held up well since 2020's $80-billion loss. Herein we refer to ExxonMobil, Shell, BP, TotalEnergies, Chevron, and ConocoPhillips as the 'big six'.
